One thing I really love about the few months of winter we get here in Sydney is that I get to dress in long sleeves, coats, scarves, boots and all things that looks so good when layering! One of my absolute best winter wardrobe staples for this winter is the long-sleeve dress.
This season also brings on the Breton Stripes trend, which I could not be happier about. And I found the most perfect long-sleeve dress (in a Breton striped print – YESS!) at MARKS & SPENCER. I added the brown trench coat to this look as I felt it was the perfect layering item that goes so well with the length of those stripes and the shape of the dress.
The black ribbon detail adds a bit of sophistication and is the perfect break of point for the layering. I find the shape quite flattering with the band cinching in the waist.
Combining this dress with an equally long oversized camel coat was just a done deal but both pieces look so good on their own. The coat would also look great – for example with a jean and a tee. The whole look is versatile which makes it the perfect staple pieces to add to your winter wardrobe. I feel that this outfit is the perfect go-to look when heading out for a quick coffee catch up with friends on the weekend. The dress can also be worn on it’s own with a pair of high heels and a leather jacket or even a chic black blazer hanging on top you the shoulders and you have yourself the perfect mid-week dinner outfit!
